The universe doesn’t give a flying f- about you…

A peacock

…and the sooner you realize that, the better.

I’m not going to get into the metaphysical aspect of it all. I’m just talking the physical world.

The universe doesn’t care about you. The universe doesn’t even know you exist.

The world isn’t fair. It’s not meant to be. And every time we try to make it fair, we end up with a dystopia.

Look up democide for instance. That’s some asshole dictator with way too much power trying to make things fair.

Or you get a Harrison Bergeron scenario. If you have no idea what I’m talking about, you need to read Kurt Vonnegut. One of my all-time favorite authors.

Not everyone lives

The life cycle has two parts. You’re born. You die.

Some of us live. Not all of us do though.

Ironically, the ones most afraid of death are the ones who live the least. Those of us who want to get the most out of life prioritize living over our fear of death.

We especially see this in the lockdowns. The ones screaming for the masks the most are the ones with the most pathetic lives. If I’m talking about you, tough shit. I just called you out on your bullshit and I’m not going to apologize for it.

I learned awhile back about consistencies. And generalizations.

You can see consistent patterns in people. I’ve talked about Free Will and how everyone is born with it, but most people are too chickenshit to actually use it.

Which really is a shame. You get a body. Nowadays, you see the average person abuse the hell out of it. They make every excuse in the book not to maintain it. And when it starts to fall apart, they want you and me to pay for their laziness/bad choices.

How to get the most out of life

I’ve talked about this many times. Prioritize your health. Surround yourself with good friends. Control your finances. And for that special someone, filter well.

When you have kids, spend quality time with them. Give them some stories for your funeral. The absolute last thing you want for your kids is for them to draw blanks at your funeral.

You’re going to die, whether you like it or not. So am I.

I can’t speak for you, but I’m going to get a lot out of this life before I die.

About the featured image

My wife retired in 2019. Had I managed my money better, she would have retired much sooner. She had a shitty job.

I didn’t figure out the whole money thing until my late 30s. Once we did, our lives got considerably better.

For her retirement, we spent one week in Miami, nine days in Romania, and took a Caribbean cruise on the Carnival cruise line. So 3+ week vacation. Best vacation so far.

One of these days, I’ll write a comparison of all the different cruise lines we’ve been on.

This peacock was taken in the Everglades.

And on another note, while my music style is Romanticism, my art style is Fantasy Pinup, my humor is Absurdism. It’s also my writing style, except I use some pretty heavy Fantasy themes.

I used to play Advanced Dungeons and Dragons v1 in the early to mid 80s and that time period of my life shows up in both my writing and my painting. Check out my first short story anthology here:
